The Southern Berkshire Chamber of Commerce connects you with everything that is going on in the nine towns of Southern Berkshires. Whether you stop by our Visitors’ Booth on Main Street, Great Barrington, attend a Chamber-sponsored community event or chat with a merchant member, you will come to understand what makes the Southern Berkshires so special.
We began as the Great Barrington Chamber of Commerce in the early 1900s. In the late 1920s, the state of Massachusetts renamed us the Southern Berkshire Chamber. Since then our merchant-focused organization has continually taken pride in the “Shop Local” movement and promoting the beauty and elegance of our unique region.
Our Chamber, like all Chambers of Commerce, is a not-for-profit advocate for local member businesses. Businesses become members because they take pride in contributing to their community. Joining the Chamber is a smart business move, as member businesses can take advantage of many networking opportunities, as well as experience increased promotion of their business, through our website, e-blast and social media.
The Southern Berkshire Chamber of Commerce is managed by a volunteer Board of Directors, established to promote civic, commercial, industrial, and agricultural progress within the Southern Berkshires, and to work diligently with community partners and town officials for the establishment sound business in our area.
