Fairview Hospital, located in Great Barrington, is a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital providing general acute medical and surgical care, the Family Birthplace maternity unit, and a Swing Bed Program, a short-term sub-acute service for rehabilitative therapies and restorative nursing care. Fairview Hospital’s Emergency Department is designated a Primary Stroke Center by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, offering 24-hour physician coverage and telemedicine capabilities connecting its team to specialists at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield.

Additional healthcare services are provided to the community by VIM Berkshires Free Clinic, which provides access to quality healthcare for income-qualified, uninsured, and underinsured residents of the Berkshire region; Volunteers in Medicine, which serves local patients ages 19–64 who are currently uninsured and lack access to public programs; and Community Health Programs (CHP), a network of health centers and caring professionals providing high-quality healthcare, dental services, wellness education and family support services. CHP outreach provides free health screenings, insurance enrollment assistance as well as information so people can learn how to take better care of themselves and their families.

Supporting these programs is a range of medical practitioners, advocacy and support services, mental health and counseling services, substance abuse programs, nursing and rehabilitation facilities, and continuum of care homes that make it possible to find community care and support to live a healthy, balanced life.
